There is nothing like a mom’s love – they do things selflessly.

Imagine carrying a life for 9 months, the pain of giving birth. A mother faces tremendous amount of pain which is equivalent to 20 bones getting fractured at the same time (yes, too painful to imagine!)

Only mothers can do it.

(This isn’t a mother’s day post but I just want to honor my Mom for being an awesome Mom)

I will never be too old to ask for my mom’s advice or a good night kiss and warm hugs. Hers is the purest form of love in this world. There is no match to it. My mom has a never ending supply of unconditional and irrevocable love. She remembers the date, the day and the moment when her children were born. The first day I succeeded in walking with my feet, the day I went to school and the first crush I had in school. All those things are engraved in her memories.

She knows if I’m okay or not. Whenever I’m sick, she always has the perfect medication for all. She knows the home remedies for the common colds and allergies and other infections. No matter what, she knows the secret of how to make me feel better.

Last week, I had a fever, cough and colds. More than the pharmacologic effect of taking antipyretic and antitusive drugs, my mom’s therapeutic touch helped me to get well. The incredible healing effect of a mother’s touch.

I wish I had that healing effect on her too – that she’ll feel better whenever she’s sick.

I’ve been doing  q10 minutes blood pressure monitoring for mommy since 4pm today. She’s experiencing on/off headache with a pain scale of 7/10 down to 5/10 now. She doesn’t have any difficulty in breathing (Thank God). Way back 2008, Mommy was diagnosed with Hypertension. That same year, she also had a mild stroke. I still remember how I felt when she was confined in the hospital. I felt sunken. I felt anxious. I felt scared. We all prayed for her, and by God’s grace she got better. From then on, I am always involved with her daily check-ups, maintenance medicine and her over all health and lifestyle (including diet modification and exercise) again, by God’s grace, she’s always fine and any deviation on her LDL/HDL, Tryglicerides were corrected and/or close to normal.

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and in our “Medical and Surgical Nursing” subject, my favorite topic is the Cardiovascular System, which I memorized and understood by heart. That time, it was so clear to me why I took that course – to take good care of mommy. But the con of it was that every symptom that is present in my mom is a fast-paced prognosis in my mind, which leads me to worrying. But the Bible never fails to remind me not to worry and only He can provide healing and restore good health.

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (NLT)

1Peter 2:24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. (NLT)

God is ever faithful and always a great source of strength and finances we need. My Mom and Dad have health cards that cover their check-ups and even provide discounts for medicines. They are strong enough to perform daily activities and chores. They’re even actively participating in church activities including victory group and ministry.I thank God for sustaining Mom and also Dad.

Praying for immediate healing for mommy right now, I just don’t want to see her in pain or feeling any discomfort. If you’re reading this, please stand with me in prayer. Thank you. 🙂
